According to the public relations of Taekwondo Federation, the 26th World Military Taekwondo Championship was hosted by Iran for three days with the participation of 300 athletes from 12 countries in the 12,000-seat hall of Azadi Stadium in Tehran. In this tournament, the national taekwondo team of the Iranian Armed Forces won the championship and stood higher than the Russian team.
In the weight of 68 kg, Mohammad Mahdi Emadi, bachelor's student of the Faculty of Sport Sciences and Health of Shahid Beheshti University, won the gold medal by beating Vyacheslav Minin from Russia in the final.
